You got questions
We Got Answers!
Do I need to remove the chain to sharpen it?
No. The Emblis™ Chainsaw Sharpener clamps directly onto your chainsaw bar. The chain stays on — you just turn the handle and it sharpens each tooth in place.
Will it work with my chainsaw brand?
Yes. It's compatible with most standard chains including Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, and Oregon. It fits chains with a pitch of 4" to 22".
I've never sharpened a chain before. Is this hard to use?
Not at all. The built-in angle guide automatically locks at the correct 25–35° sharpening angle — no experience or measuring needed. If you can turn a handle, you can use this.
How long does it take to sharpen a full chain?
About 5–10 minutes. Each tooth takes roughly 3–5 seconds.
Does it actually get the chain sharp — or just "good enough"?
It restores your chain to the factory-correct sharpening angle, the same angle it had when it was new. Most users say it cuts better than what they get back from the shop.
How many times can I sharpen one chain with this tool?
A chain can typically be sharpened 8–10 times before the teeth are too worn down. After that, you'd replace the chain — but by then you've already saved $80–$100 in shop fees.
Is it safe to use?
Yes. The tool does the angle work for you, so there's no risk of over-grinding or damaging the teeth. A sharp chain is also a safer chain — dull chains increase kickback risk.
Is it worth it if I only use my chainsaw occasionally?
One local sharpening usually costs $8–$15. The Emblis™ pays for itself within the first few uses — even if you only cut a few times a year.
